TheVoice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) completed its 4160th day of protest in front of the Quetta Press Club on Monday. Abdul Ghaffar Qambrani of the National Party, CC member of National Party Mohd. Aslam Baloch and others visited the camp to express their solidarity to the families of the missing persons.
Addressing the gathering, the Vice-Chairman of the group Mama Qadeer Baloch said that the ‘enforced disappearance’ and ‘kill-and-dump’ of Baloch activists continue unabated.
He said said that the ‘short-sighted’ Pakistani military and its subordinates – the Frontier Corps, Police and others – and the intelligence agencies are attempting to employ ‘ludicrous’ policies to spread fear among the masses and weaken the Baloch activists.
The mother of the missing Rashid Hussain also addressed the gathering, saying that she still awaits the return of her missing son. She said that she has protested in both Karachi and Quetta, and has even turned to courts for her cause, but to no avail. There hasn’t been any development for the recovery of Rashid Hussain, she said.
She said that Pakistan as well as the United Arab Emirates – where Rashid Hussain was working as a laborer – will be held accountable if any ill befell her son. Human rights groups must take notice and demand answers from both of these countries, she concluded.
