The main Chaman highway at Kojak has been closed for the fourth day in protest, causing long queues of vehicles and difficulties to passengers.
The protest comes after the abduction of Asad Khan, cousin of Awami National Party leader and Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA), Asghar Achakzai. Asad Khan, the provincial spokesman for the Awami National Party, was reportedly kidnapped from Chaman, last Friday.
All parties from Balochistan have taken stand that the wheel jam strike has been started as the provincial press secretary of ANP has not been recovered yet.
Due to the closure of Quetta-Chaman highway, Afghan transit, NATO supplies and all types of transport have been completely cut off.
Quetta-Chaman highway is the main route connecting Balochistan to Afghanistan.
Passengers have been banned from traveling on the Quetta-Chaman highway.
All parties said that the Quetta-Chaman International Highway will remain closed until Asad Khan is recovered.
