A missing activist of JSQM_A, Niaz Lashari’s tortured and bullet riddled body was recovered from Karachi, on Tuesday.
According to details, tortured and bullet riddled body of a Sindhi activist was dumped in front of Jinah Hospital in Karachi, who has been identified as of a missing political worker, Niaz Lashari.
Lashari was a member of the National Congress of now ‘banned’ Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz – Arisar (JSQM-A).
According to World Sindhi Congress (WSC), Niaz Lashari remained associated with Sindhi national movement for more than two decades. He was first abducted by the state agencies in April 2018 from Karachi, where he was residing, and was later on produced in September 2018.
“He was again abducted returning from his hearing in a so called Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in January 2019,” WSC added.
The statement released by the WSC said, “World Sindhi Congress is deeply saddened and strongly condemns the extra-judicial murder of Niaz Lashari. Pakistani state is on a rampage of committing gross violations of human rights of Sindhi people including enforced disappearances and extra-judicial killings of Sindhi political, civil society and human rights workers.”
WSC will raise this issue with the UN and other relevant forums to request them to save Sindhi people from these atrocities, statement read.
It is to mention that earlier many protests were staged in several cities of Sindh including Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana and Shikarpur by JSQM-A, Voice for Missing Persons of Sindh and Lashari’s family for his safe recovery.
Another tortured body was also accompanied with Niaz Lashari’s corpse, whose identity has not been ascertained yet.
