On March 1, two brothers Naseem and Shay Mureed sons of Nazeer and two other students Salman Khurshid and Ashfaq Ahmed residents of Nazarabad Tump, district Kech disappeared when security forces and secret agencies raided their home in Karachi and took them away.

On March 3, Shakoor Babu, a policeman and resident of Nodiz, district Kech was heading back to police training center after visiting his family when forces stopped him on D-Baloch road and whisked him away. He was recently selected in police and completing his training.

On March 4, forces whisked away Zubair and his father Faqeer Jalal residents of Dannuk, district Kech during a raid. Faqir Jalal along with his family has migrated from Dasht to save his family from enforced disappearance and military operations of forces.

Naseebullah Khilji s/o Malang Khan, resident of Mashriqi Bypass, Quetta got abducted from Gahi Khan Chowk, Quetta. Two weeks later, on 4 March, his decomposed body was found in Mian Gundi area of Quetta.

Nazar Muhammad, a poet, novelist and author of five books was forcibly disappeared by forces in a raid on his home in Absor Turbat on March 5. He had returned from Oman 2 weeks before where he is serving as a Seargent in Royal Army of Oman.

Seperately, on the same day, forces abducted three other civilians from Shangar, Washuk. The abductees were identified as Zahoor Siddique, Fazul Mohammad and Ghulam Nabi Mola Bakhsh.

In a separate incident, Baloch Khan Umer was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Duki, district Duki. Later, his body was handed over to his family after medical examination.

The Committee to Protect Journalists ranked Pakistan the fifth deadliest country for Journalists. At least 49 journalists were killed for their work in past few years. Some of them were abducted by forces and later their mutilated bodies were found. Niyamatullah Baloch, a journalist in Taftan, district Chagai was abducted by forces on March 6. He has been critical of government and security establishment policies in Balochistan. According to eye witnesses, forces severely beat him before they drove him away.

Separately, on the same day, 2 mutilated bodies were recovered from Quetta and Pashin. was recovered from Satellite Town Quetta. Sanaullah Dur Mohammad, resident of Panjgur dead body was recovered from Satellite Town Quetta whereas body of a 8 years old boy was found in a gutter line in Pishin.

On 7 March, a bullet-riddled and tortured decedent was discovered in Nokandi area of district Chaghai. The body was later identified as Adil Ejbadi.

On March 8, an unrecognizable body found in Kank area of Mastung. The body was shifted to hospital for identification.

On March 11, Mohammad Islam s/o Shahi Khan Mengal’s bullet-riddled dead body was discovered in mountains in Kalat. In another incident, Ghulam Mohammad Saqib was shot dead by unknown gunmenn ear Jalawan Complex. He was a singer.

On 12 March Pakistani forces raided a house in Gwarkop, district Kech and forcefully disappeared Shay Dinar. During the raid, forces harassed and torture women and children.

Muneer Ahmad Bazeed, a student of agriculture department in Lasbela University was abducted on 14 March by unknown armed people. According to the eyewitnesses of the incident, they beat him and then forcefully took him away. His whereabouts are still unknown.

On March 14, a decomposed body was found in Dera Murad Jamali. The body was taken to the hospital for autopsy and according to the report the body was two days old.

On 16 March, Pakistani forces forcefully disappeared Noor Ahmad Niaz, a resident of Shayani Bazar Turbat, district Kech. According to his family, forces invited him to a shop in Turbat from where he was abducted.

On 17 March, forces sieged Parant Sholi village of Dasht in Kech district. During the door to door search, forces forcefully disappeared 6 people. The abductees were identified as Umethan Raheem Bakhsh, Tariq Shafi Muhammad, Faqeer Ahmad Khuda Dad, Saleem Abdul Raheem, Rafeeq Lal Bakhhs and Raheem Bakhsh Lal Bakhsh. Rafeeq and Raheem Bakhsh are brothers. Since then their whereabouts are unknown.

On 18 March, a dead body of a 55 years old man was discovered in remote area of Mastung known as Bashkaram Jungle. The body was identified as Rakhya Khan s/o Chutta Khan resident of Illaabad, Sibi.

The security forces forcefully disappeared three civilians on March 19 from Balgatar district Panjgur. The abductees were identified as Nek Saal Meezan, Gulab Kareem Bakhsh and Zahoor Sobaan.

Separately, on the same day, Ehsan s/o Dr. Shaukat while travelling from Tump to Turbat was arrested at D-Baloch check-post in district Kech and transferred him to an unknown location. Moreover, forces raided a house in Peerandar Bazar in district Awaran and abducted Shareef Fazal.

On March 22, security forces raided house of Gul Sher in Gajalli Mashkay in Awaran district and forcefully disappeared his wife Noori, his sister Jan Bibi and two minors. Earlier, Gul Sher was humiliated by state-sponsored death squad members and forced to chant “Pakistan Zindabad” long live Pakistan whose video was leaked and got viral o social media. The state policy of Collective Punishment has resulted in enforced disappearances and extra judicial execution of women and children in Balochistan. Last year, in pre-election military operations, forces abducted Noor Malik, her 2 daughter Haseena and Sameena and her teenage son Zameer. Their whereabouts are still unknown. Noor Malik’s another daughter Zeba and only survivor has joined the hunger strike camp of families of victims of enforced disappearances for her family’s safe recovery

The impact of the discovery of mutilated bodies in Balochistan has largely harmed and has a long-lasting effect on families of victims of enforced disappearances who have been struggling and protesting to recover their loved ones and waiting in hope of their safe return.
