Threat alert issued for Chinese nationals in Balochistan after attack on Chinese consulate in Karachi by Baloch insurgents
According to the details received by the Balochistan Post, Balochistan government has issued a threat alert for Chinese nationals, who are working on different Chinese projects, and ordered tightening their security after the early morning attack on Chinese consulate in Karachi.
VIP movement in Balochistan has been restricted considering the security threats, Chinese nationals have also been briefed about the concerns and asked them to not leave premises unnecessarily.
Pakistani secret agencies have carried out several operations in Balochistan in the wake of the consulate attack.
The attack on Chinese consulate was claimed by Baloch Liberation Army, a pro-freedom militant organization in Balochistan.
Jeehand Baloch, a spokesperson for BLA, told media that the aim for the attack was to tell China that Baloch people would not tolerate their exploitative schemes in Balochistan and warned China to leave Balochistan, otherwise, such attacks will continue in future.
