Prominent Baloch nationalist leader, Dr Allah Nazar Baloch, has said that the East Bay Expressway is a conspiracy to deprive the local people of Gwadar of their livelihood and eventually to expel them.
“Gwadar East Bay Expressway will not only bring destruction to the local people, but it will destroy their culture, their way of life and natural environment of Gwadar. With the new settlements, Baloch nation will be transformed into a minority on their own land through demographic changes in Balochistan. Today, every Baloch is consciously aware. That is why they continue to resist the imperialist projects in every corner of Balochistan, Dr. nazar said in a statement on Tuesday.
He added that Pakistan and China are jointly conspiring to devour the Baloch land. We will fight it with full force. Pakistan, with the help of China, is trying to convert Baloch coast into a Chinese colony. And through mega projects millions of Chinese and Punjabis will be settled to force the Baloch out of here permanently.
Dr Allah Nazar Baloch said that the Baloch have resisted Pakistan and China’s imperial plans on both political and military fronts. And will make a strong resistance against the construction of East Bay Expressway. These projects are part of a major conspiracy to expropriate the Baloch land. And the Baloch is obliged to resist against them on every front. This resistance movement will not be reduced. The whole coast, including Gwadar, will be defended by Baloch. If China and Pakistan do not come to their senses and do not pull their hands out of these projects then they would not be able to escape the wrath of Baloch people.
He said that China, under the cloak of development, is trying to become an imperialist power and striving to plant in its claws on the Baloch coast like a monster. But we make it clear to China that Baloch land is not some heirless property to be escheated. Baloch children have rendered tremendous sacrifices for the liberation of their land and national survival and our steps will not stagger to give any kind of sacrifices in the future as well. In Balochistan, no China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) related project has reached its completion yet, but it has already pushed the fishermen of Gwadar to the wall. All of their ways of fishing are closed down. Inhabitants of Gwadar are already protesting for water and today they are forced to beg for permission to get into the sea.
Dr Allah Nazar Baloch said that the Baloch nation is gaining huge successes in its war for independence. The Baloch national movement has brought Pakistan closer to bankruptcy and Pakistan is trying to survive by selling the Baloch national resources for pittance to run its economy. Baloch is a living nation and living nations cannot be kept subdued for long with evil conspiracies.
