Another miner lost his life in a accident occurred in a coal mine in Dukki region of Balochistan.

According to the details received by The Balochistan Post, the miner named Mohammad Afzal lost his life after falling down from a carrier trolly while working in a coal mine.

It is not the first time appalling working conditions have killed a miner. Many such incidents have occurred due to the poor working conditions in mines which have resulted in numerous casualties.

Last week six miners had stuck in a collapsed coal mine in Mach, Bolan and before that in another horrible incident in June, two mines collapsed in Bolan district, which killed 23 miners.

“The only reason of such incidents is negligence and lack of facilities in mining sector from government,” miners said.

Many international organisations working for worker rights have strongly condemned Pakistan for the complete absence of an effective occupational health and safety policy in the country, which has resulted in the deaths of a large number of workers in industries, particularly in coal mines.
