Pakistani forces surrounded a bazaar and fired towards a residential area in Buleda, in Balochistan’s Kech district, local residents told The Balochistan Post.
Residents said Frontier Corps (FC) personnel surrounded Chairman Abdul Rehman Bazaar on Saturday and opened fire towards the residential area, adding that a shepherd also came under fire.
No casualties or arrests were reported.
Residents described the personnel’s conduct as intolerable, saying that any concerns should be discussed with public representatives. They said firing towards residential areas and taking unlawful actions were unacceptable and could further heighten tensions.
Meanwhile, residents complained that FC drone flights over homes violated their privacy and the Baloch tradition of respect for women’s dignity and the sanctity of the home.
They said the surveillance had left women feeling unsafe and demanded an end to drone flights over residential areas and homes.
