The protest camp organised by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) outside Quetta Press Club against enforced disappearances in Balochistan continued for its 6,383rd day on Friday, with family members of Bilal Ahmed Nechari joining the protest to demand his recovery.
According to his family, Bilal Ahmed Nechari, son of Manzoor Ahmed, was detained by Pakistani forces from his home in Killi Khali, near the Western Bypass in Quetta, on May 3, 2026. They said he was taken away in front of family members on the pretext of questioning and has remained missing since.
The family said they had received no information about his whereabouts.
VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch said the organisation had submitted Bilal’s case to the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances and the government. The commission had formally registered the case, assigned it a case number and issued notices to the relevant authorities seeking his recovery, he added.
Nasrullah expressed hope that the commission would play its role in securing the recovery of Bilal and others reported to have been forcibly disappeared and in ensuring justice for their families under the country’s laws.
