At least two Pakistani military personnel were killed and 13 injured in separate attacks in Panjgur and Washuk, while an armoured vehicle was damaged in a third attack in Chagai, according to officials and local sources.
Armed fighters ambushed a convoy of buses carrying Pakistani forces on the CPEC route in Washuk’s Urmagay area, local sources said, while authorities confirmed that one soldier, identified as Naik Salam, was killed and 12 personnel were injured.
An improvised explosive device (IED) blast also targeted Pakistani forces in the Hokani area of Parom, Panjgur, on Monday morning, killing Lance Naik Rafiq and injuring Lance Naik Mubeen, officials said. Helicopters were subsequently seen flying over the area.
An armoured vehicle in a Pakistani forces convoy was damaged in another bomb attack on the Quetta–Taftan trade route in Chagai’s Chehatar area on Sunday.
Local sources said a convoy of commercial vehicles was held up until late at night following the explosion, while Pakistani forces opened heavy fire and launched mortar shells in several directions. They also alleged that forces had forcibly disappeared several people in the area.
No group had claimed responsibility for the attacks at the time of reporting, although Baloch armed groups are active in all three areas and regularly carry out attacks on Pakistani forces and allied militias.
