Two young men were reported missing after being taken from their homes in Quetta in July and August, while five people who had disappeared at different times were recovered on Aug. 18 and 19, according to local and family sources.
Shoaib Baloch, 19, was taken from his home in Killi Almas on Quetta’s Airport Road at around 4 a.m. on Aug. 4, the sources said. His whereabouts remain unknown.
Mohammad Naseer Baloch, a 23-year-old driver, was taken from his home in the Kechi Beg area of Quetta at around 12:30 a.m. on July 18 and has remained missing since then, family sources said.
Meanwhile, three residents of Parom in Panjgur were recovered on Aug. 18 after remaining missing for different periods.
Latif, son of Haji Saleem, had been missing since June 20 and was recovered from a taxi stand in Quetta. Sadiq, son of Rasool Jan, was recovered in Parom after being missing since June 26.
Nusrat Khan, son of Khan Mohammad, was recovered in Quetta after being missing since May 2.
Two Chagai residents, Syed Nizam Shah and Azharullah Haq, were recovered in Dalbandin on Aug. 19. Both had been missing since Aug. 4.
The latest cases come amid continuing reports of enforced disappearances across Balochistan.
The Human Rights Council of Balochistan (HRCB) said in its annual report that it documented 1,482 cases of enforced disappearance in 2025, a 79% increase from the previous year. The organisation said 108 minors were among those subjected to enforced disappearance.
