Seven heavy vehicles were reportedly damaged in separate firing incidents on highways in Balochistan’s Dalbandin and Mastung areas, amid continuing attacks on mineral and commercial transport routes.
Local sources said armed fighters opened fire on the tyres of three trailer vehicles near Bartagazi in the Yakmach area of Dalbandin on Saturday, rendering the vehicles inoperable.
A day earlier, fighters opened fire on heavy vehicles in the Guru area of Khadkucha, Mastung, damaging three containers and one dumper.
No loss of life was reported in either incident. No group had claimed responsibility for the attacks at the time of publication.
The incidents come as attacks on heavy vehicles, tankers, trailers and mineral transport have continued along major routes across Balochistan, including in Mastung, Noshki, Dalbandin and adjoining areas.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for several earlier attacks and highway blockades in the same corridor, describing them as part of an “economic blockade.”
Transporters had recently suspended loading operations and staged protests over repeated attacks and losses, but later postponed their strike following assurances from the authorities.
Despite those assurances, attacks on heavy vehicles and commercial transport routes have continued.
