The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) on Monday said its fighters carried out attacks on Pakistani forces and police, and seized government weapons and a vehicle in Jhao, Turbat and Chagai.

BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said that on March 6, fighters targeted a soldier deployed at a military checkpoint in the Gazzi area of Jhao with a sniper rifle, killing him at the scene.

He added that on March 14, fighters carried out a hand grenade attack on a Frontier Corps (FC) post assigned to the security of Turbat Airport, causing “human and material losses.”

On the same day, in a separate operation, he said, fighters surrounded a police patrol team in the Chogan Kandag area of Turbat city, disarmed the personnel and seized three government rifles along with their magazines, as well as a government vehicle.

The personnel were later warned and released “on humanitarian grounds,” he added.

He further said that on March 13, fighters detained personnel of a mineral exploration company in the Wadh area of Chagai, seized one weapon in their possession, damaged their vehicle, and released the staff after issuing a warning “on humanitarian grounds.”

The spokesperson warned companies involved in mineral exploration and extraction to cease activities related to Balochistan’s resources, saying “otherwise, they will be responsible for the consequences.”

Pakistani authorities had not issued a response at the time of publication of this report.
