Two Levies personnel were killed in separate firing incidents in Balochistan, while the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) claimed responsibility for an explosion targeting a gas pipeline in Sindh.
According to Levies sources, a search operation was carried out in the Khattan area of Bolan district against the so-called Shafu gang. During the operation, an exchange of fire took place in which Levies official Mohsin Awan was killed. Two suspected gang members were reportedly injured. Authorities said hideouts belonging to the group, including those linked to alleged ringleader Mir Hassan Hala and more than 15 associates, were later set ablaze. The operation in the area is ongoing, with further raids on homes reported.
In a separate incident in Pishin district, gunmen opened fire on Levies personnel near Killi Batezai. A Levies Naik, Bismillah, was killed on the spot. His body was transferred to Quetta for legal formalities.
Meanwhile, the Baloch Republican Guards said their fighters carried out a blast on the night of 24 September targeting a 36-inch gas pipeline near 60-Mile, close to Nawabshah in Sindh. In a statement, the group’s spokesperson Dostain Baloch claimed responsibility and vowed to continue such actions.
Pakistani authorities have not issued any official comment regarding the incidents or the BRG claim.
