At least nine people were killed and two others injured in a traffic accident in Balochistan’s Lasbela district on Thursday.
According to reports, a Panjgur–Karachi-bound vehicle collided with two pickup trucks at Fakira Stop near Uthal. The crash left nine people dead on the spot, while two others, including a policeman, sustained injuries.
Rescue officials said the bodies and injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Uthal and Civil Hospital Bela. Initial reports suggest that overspeeding was the cause of the accident.
Road accidents remain a serious concern in Balochistan. In 2024 alone, more than 20,300 road accidents were reported across Balochistan, leaving at least 471 people dead and over 30,000 injured, according to official data.
