The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for two separate armed confrontations with alleged state-backed militia and Pakistani security forces in Awaran and Kolwah, Balochistan, stating that several enemy combatants were killed or injured in the operations.

According to a statement issued by BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, a BLF reconnaissance unit came under attack on July 18 in the Zarbari (southern) mountain range of Gishang, Kolwah. The attackers were identified by the group as members of a state-sponsored “death squad.” The spokesperson said a firefight ensued, during which BLF fighters reportedly wounded two attackers, forcing them to retreat. No casualties were reported on the BLF side, and the group said its fighters withdrew safely.

The BLF spokesperson said that in a separate attack on the night of July 22 at around 2:00 a.m., BLF fighters launched what they described as a “coordinated and planned” attack on two military checkpoints located at the Jak mountain post in the Tirtej region of Awaran district. The group claims the assault, carried out at close range using heavy weaponry, inflicted significant damage on the posts, killing three Pakistani soldiers and injuring several others. The remaining personnel reportedly abandoned their positions and retreated to a nearby base under cover of darkness.

The BLF has claimed full responsibility for both incidents and reiterated its commitment to armed resistance against what it refers to as the “occupying” Pakistani military presence in Balochistan.

The group’s spokesperson urged Baloch youth to avoid aligning with state forces and instead join the ranks of the resistance, calling on them to take an “active role in the defense of their land.”
