Pakistani authorities are actively searching for a woman suspected of facilitating the Baloch Liberation Army’s (BLA) deadly attack near Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport on October 6, in which a convoy of Chinese engineers and investors was targeted.

According to officials, law enforcement agencies have identified the woman’s involvement in the attack, which was claimed by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA). Authorities say that footage from cameras in various locations around Karachi helped confirm the woman’s role in facilitating the bombing. She is now a prime suspect in the case, and raids are being conducted across Karachi to apprehend her.

Investigators have claimed that the woman and Shah Fahad, the suicide bomber responsible for the attack, were brought into Karachi as a family unit, and the same vehicle used for the bombing was also used to enter the city. However, authorities have not yet disclosed the woman’s identity or other details about her background.

The October 6 bombing targeted a convoy carrying Chinese nationals, including engineers and investors, near a traffic signal close to Karachi airport. Several people, including Chinese citizens, were killed or injured in the attack. The BLA claimed responsibility for the assault, with their spokesperson stating that Shah Fahad alias Aftab, a fighter from the group’s Majeed Brigade, carried out the suicide attack by driving a bomb-laden vehicle into the convoy.

The attack resulted in the deaths of more than five Chinese nationals and left over a dozen others injured. At least 15 Pakistani military personnel assigned to protect the convoy were also killed, and several others wounded, including more than four senior officers from the Pakistani army and intelligence agencies.

Following the attack, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) registered a case and initiated investigations, naming BLA leader Bashir Zeb and other key members of the group in connection with the assault.
