In response to the recent violent incidents in Gwadar and the abduction-like arrests of Baloch youth, the Baloch Students Action Committee (BSAC) has declared a three-day boycott of classes across Balochistan and the rest of the country.
The central spokesperson for the Baloch Students Action Committee condemned the firing by Pakistani security forces on peaceful Baloch protestors, which resulted in deaths and injuries, as well as the abduction-like arrests of several political activists. This situation, they stated, has led to a humanitarian crisis throughout Balochistan. The act of opening fire on peaceful Baloch citizens during political gatherings, causing injuries and fatalities, is a shameful deed that deserves the strongest condemnation.
The spokesperson added that the Baloch nation must unite against the injustices and oppression they face. The government’s obstruction of the political assembly in Gwadar, known as Baloch Raaji Muchi, and the subsequent crackdown on political activists and participants is not only undemocratic and inhumane but also constitutes an act of oppression. Additionally, Baloch students have long been victims of enforced disappearances, and now, under the guise of halting public political activities, students and other youths are being unlawfully detained, which is deeply regrettable.
In light of the ongoing brutality against the Baloch people, including the recent incidents in Gwadar and the abduction of Baloch youth, the BSAC has announced a three-day boycott of classes across Balochistan to express solidarity with their community. BSAC urges students and teachers across the country to join in the boycott to show support for the Baloch nation.
