The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Quetta has reported an armed encounter resulting in the death of four individuals labeled as suspected militants.

According to the CTD spokesperson, the incident began when gunmen on motorcycles attacked a police vehicle on Sibbi Road. The subsequent exchange of fire led to the death of one assailant on the spot, while the remaining three were pursued and later found in a building in Killi Zarin, where they were killed.

The CTD also announced the recovery of an arsenal, including weapons, guns, grenades, and motorcycles, from the deceased.

However, there have been previous instances where the CTD’s claims have been disputed. Reports have emerged proving that some of those killed in such confrontations were actually missing Baloch persons, executed at close range, contradicting the narrative of armed conflict.

These allegations have prompted Baloch human rights groups to express grave concerns over what they describe as ‘fake encounters.’ Such incidents have instilled fear among the families of missing persons, who dread hearing news of such confrontations, fearing for the safety of their loved ones.
