The sit-in protest of the relatives of the missing Naeem Rehmat Baloch on the CPEC highway in Kech district of Balochistan continued for the third consecutive day.

According to reports, a large number of women, men, and children are currently protesting for the third consecutive day by blocking the M-8 CPEC highway in Shapok town of Kech against the alleged ‘enforced disappearance’ of Turbat University student Naeem Rahmat s/o Rahmat Baloch.

Due to the protest, the highway is completely closed for traffic and long queues of vehicles have formed both side of the road. Meanwhile, negotiations were held between the administration and the protestors last night, but the protesters refused to leave the road until their demands were met.

Naeem Rahmat went missing after he was reportedly detained by the Pakistani security forces from Turbat city 2 years ago. His family members have resorted to protests and other means for his recovery. However, his fate remains unknown.

It pertains to mention that the series of protests against forced disappearances continues in Balochistan. On the first day of Eid, a large number of women, children and citizens protested on the streets in 25 cities of Balochistan.
