A clash took place between Pakistani security forces and armed individuals in Panjgur District of Balochistan on Friday night.

According to reports, the clash continued at least for four hours between Pakistani forces and militants in Panjgur. Ambulances and helicopters were dispatched to the area. The incident took place near the Football Chowk in Panjgur’s Gramkan area.

The clash began around 10 pm when Pakistani forces attempted a raid on a building. This resulted in the initiation of clashes in the area, with reports of intense firing and at least ten explosions in the vicinity.

Pakistani forces cordoned off the area and set up checkpoints on the entry and exit routes. Intense exchange of fire persisted until the early hours of the morning, accompanied by the sounds of explosions.

According to local sources, ambulances were seen entering and leaving the area during the clash, while a helicopter landed at Pakistani forces’ headquarters.

There are reports of casualties among Pakistani forces during the clash, while details regarding casualties among the militants are yet to be confirmed.

Panjgur has a large presence of Baloch pro-independence groups. In February 2022, the city witnessed a major attack by the Baloch Liberation Army’s Majeed Brigade targeting the headquarters of the Pakistan Army, and holding the military camp under their control for at least 72 hours.
