Two people have been detained allegedly by the Pakistani forces from the Jhal Magsi area of Balochistan and subsequently moved to an undisclosed location.

The missing persons have been identified as Akbar s/o Nawab Khan and Jamil Ahmed s/o Imam Bakhsh.

According to reports, Akbar was earlier detained by Pakistani forces along with his brother Yusuf. Meanwhile, his brother Yusuf was killed by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in an alleged fake encounter in Dera Murad Jamali, while Akbar himself was released but has once again been forcibly disappeared.

Local sources said that Akbar was released by the Pakistani forces in a handicapped condition, Akbar’s legs were paralyzed when he was recovered and he was now detained again in a disabled condition. His family members expressed concern over the abduction and urged human rights organizations for the safe recovery of Akbar.

It’s pertinent to mention that protests against enforced disappearances have been going on for at least decades across Balochistan and for the last two months, the Baloch Yakjetti Committee was staging a sit-in in Islamabad, which they ended today and left for Quetta.
