South African Olympic medalist and boxing coach, Emma Nole Floundwa, has arrived in Balochistan with an aim to uplift the region’s aspiring boxers.

Speaking at a press conference in Quetta, Floundwa expressed his dedication to fostering local talent by providing specialized training to both boxers and judges. “Boxing is more than a sport; it’s an avenue for both achievement and livelihood,” he remarked.

He was accompanied by notable figures from the Pakistan Progreen Boxing Federation, including its Central Secretary-General, Rashid Khan, and Fazal Mohammad Noorzai. The federation representatives highlighted that international sporting opportunities are now increasingly accessible to athletes from Balochistan.

Nematullah Zahir, Chairman of Alkhidmat Foundation International, expressed gratitude to Floundwa for his initiative and emphasized the critical role of sports in guiding the youth, particularly in regions grappling with issues like drug abuse. Zahir also voiced concerns over internal challenges within Balochistan’s Sports Department, hinting at certain factions hindering progress.
