On Thursday, reports emerged of at least two individuals allegedly being forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces from the Mastung and Sibi districts of Balochistan.

According to these reports, Pakistani security forces have arrested Abdul Latif, the son of Haji Babu Bangulzai, and transferred him to an undisclosed location. Abdul Latif, who worked as a rickshaw driver, was reportedly apprehended by the security forces on Wednesday around 5 PM.

In a separate incident, personnel from the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) are said to have arrested a young man named Shaukat, the son of Sathi, from the Sibi district. He, too, was taken to an undisclosed location.

The families of the victims have confirmed what they describe as an ‘unconstitutional’ arrest and have expressed deep concern over the forced disappearances of these individuals. They fear that the youth might face a perilous fate, potentially being subjected to extrajudicial actions, as the CTD has a history of alleged fake encounters in Balochistan.
