The residents of Tehsil Tump of the Kech district on Thursday carried out a rally to record their protest against the 18-hour-long electricity load shedding.

The rally marched through different streets and roads in Tump and the protesters chanted slogans against the Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) and its officials. The Tump to Turbat main highway was blocked for general traffic for six hours.

Later, the Chairman of Tump Municipal Committee, Amin Qureshi and Vice Chairman Haji Muslim Yaqoob, Master Muhammad Khan Gichki from BNP Mengal, Councilor Masood Jalis, Wajah Abdul Haq Hoth successfully negotiated and restored the road for traffic and the demands of the protesters were conveyed to the concerned authorities of QESCO.

The protestors complained that the QESCO official of the area Bangul Marri has extended the load-shedding by 18 hours.

The residents said that people are ready in any situation to bring the issue of electricity load-shedding to the best mechanism. Still, on the other hand, they said that an incompetent and corrupt person like Bangul Marri wants to impose all his power and ego on the people of Tump, which we will not allow.

They said that the Tump adm, administration is sticking to its long-standing policy of harassing the people. Every year when Ramadan arrives, Bangul Marri extends the load-shedding period by 18 hours.

They said that instead of providing convenience to the people in the holy month of Ramadan, they are bent on making people’s lives more difficult.
