A prisoner sets himself on fire inside Quetta’s airport police station on Tuesday.

The prisoner identified as Zahoor Ahmed, an Afghan national set himself on fire and succumbed to burn wounds in Quetta’s hospital.

The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Quetta Police, Syed Fida Hassan suspended the Station House Officer (SHO) airport thana, and the other three policemen for their negligence.

Police had arrested the accused in a robbery case. The DIG Police has also ordered the formation of an inquiry committee to probe into the matter. The committee has been directed to submit a report in this regard by December 30th.
