A human rights activist Sagar Mukesh was abducted by armed men in Karachi, on Wednesday night.
Sagar Mukesh’s fellow activist has blamed security forces for Sagar’s enforced disappearance. According to his colleagues, Sagar Mukesh was a human rights activist and raised his voice for missing persons.
Sagar Mukesh used to participate in PTM demonstrations in Karachi and also the demonstrations on various political and student issues. According to reports, he had been forcibly disappeared once before.
Several cases of enforced disappearances in Karachi and interior Sindh have been reported in the past. While a hunger strike camp of Sindh Sabha is underway in Hyderabad for the recovery of missing persons from Sindh.
Sindhi nationalist parties and Voice for Missing Persons of Sindh, an organization formed by the families of Sindhi missing persons have blamed Pakistani security forces and intelligence agencies for the enforced disappearances in Sindh.
According to Sorth Lohar the convener of VMP-Sindh: Security forces are kidnapping and disappearing Sindhi nationalists and human rights activists. She said that some of the missing persons are being produced in bogus cases.
According Ms Lohar, a few days ago, CTD Karachi had announced the arrest of Mansoor Junejo, who had been missing for five months.
