Son of Hazrat Gul, a Baloch elder from Nimroz in Afghanistan was killed on Thursday.

Hazrat Gul Baloch’s son, Najib Baloch, went missing from Nimroz city three days ago after which his bullet riddled body was found on Thursday.

According to security officials in Nimroz, Najib Baloch was abducted by unknown individuals from the city center on December 20, after which search efforts were launched. However, his bullet-riddled body was recovered from Chakhansur in Nimroz district on Thursday.

Hazrat Gul Baloch is considered a sympathiser of Balochistan’s “liberation” movement. In the seventies, when thousands of Baloch had migrated from Balochistan under the leadership of Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri, Hazrat Gul Baloch provided refuge for many Baloch. He also helped the recent influx of refugees that escaped for safety after military operations in various parts of Balochistan.

Baloch rights groups claims that while the Pakistan Army has launched a large-scale operation in various parts Balochistan, Baloch political activists and sympathisers of the Baloch movement are also being targeted outside Balochistan.
