Pakistani intelligence agencies and West Police have claimed to have arrested three members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and a member of the Baloch Liberation Army from the Banaras area of Karachi city.

Authorities claim that large cache of high explosives, detonating wires and detonators were recovered from the possession of BLA and TTP members. The arrested TTP members were residing in Banaras area of Karachi West, officials said.

According to the officials, a BLA member had reached Karachi with explosives and bomb making equipment. 60 meters of detonating wires, 16 detonators were recovered from the accused. While the accused also revealed the location of more weapons, which the security forces have recovered, officials said.

However, authorities have not provided the names and other details of the arrestees.

It may be recalled that in July this year, Pakistani authorities had also claimed that six members of the Baloch Raji Ajoi Sangar (BRAS) had been arrested, but later the BRAS spokesman Baloch Khan, termed the claims false.

Baloch Khan said the arrests were a continuation of Pakistan’s ongoing propaganda that the Pakistani military and intelligence agencies were trying to cover up their failures and defeat by Baloch fighters.

BRAS is an alliance of four Baloch armed groups, fighting for the “independence of Balochistan from Pakistan.”

Meanwhile in Balochistan’s District Kech and Sibi, Two militant attacks on Pakistan forces have been reported on Thursday.

According to details, forces were targeted in a bomb attack in the Zamran area of Ketch district. The attack took place this morning on a vehicle of the forces in Gonjato area of Zamran, while the security forces were fetching water for their camp.

There were reports of casualties among security forces as a result of the blast, but officials have not yet commented on these reports.

Whereas, in Sibi, unidentified gunmen attacked a check post of Pakistani forces. The attack was carried out in the Karmoudh area, on Thursday evening.

According to local sources, the attackers targeted the post with small and heavy weaponry, which may resulted in casualties and financial losses, but officials has not provided any details yet.

Both the attacks have not been claimed by any militant groups but in the past, Baloch armed groups have been attacking the Pakistani forces in aforementioned districts.
