Pakistani government continues to enforce smart lockdown, as the country reported record coronavirus deaths and cases in last 24 hours.

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases surged to 125,933 in Pakistan on Friday, while the death toll stands at 2463.

According to National Command and Control Center (NCOC), more than 6,397 cases of coronavirus were reported while 107 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours.

As many as 40,247 patients have recovered from the disease, while the country is still witnessing a consistent rise in the cases.

In Punjab; the number of patients swelled to 47,382. The province reported 807 causalities by the COVID-19.

A partial lockdown has been imposed across the province to stem the spread of the infection.

While the Sindh province has started easing lockdown restriction as it has allowed some industries to resume operations.

The cases of infection have surged to 46,828 in the province, the most affected region in the country. The death toll has reached to 679 in the province.

Whereas, 7,673 confirmed cases have been reported in Balochistan, while the death toll has reached to 75.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the confirmed cases have surged to 15,787. It is leading other regions with more causalities as toll has surged to 610 in KPK.

There are 1,030 coronavirus cases in the Gilgit-Baltistan, while 14 patients including a young doctor have died due to the infection. As many as 416 people have recovered from the infection.

There are 534 cases in AJK while 8 deaths have been reported.
