Pakistani forces personnel were reportedly killed and injured in convoy attacks in Panjgur and Kalat, while armed fighters seized a vehicle carrying military supplies in Nushki and the United Baloch Army (UBA) claimed a bomb attack in Bolan.
Armed fighters ambushed a Pakistani forces convoy in Panjgur’s Panchi area on Saturday, targeting two vehicles with heavy and automatic weapons, sources from the area said, adding that personnel were killed and wounded during the attack.
A Pakistani forces convoy was also ambushed in Kalat’s Dasht-e-Baba area. Reports said intense gunfire and explosions were heard during the attack, with personnel reportedly killed and wounded.
However, casualty figures for both ambushes could not be immediately confirmed.
Separately, armed fighters seized and took away a vehicle carrying rations to a Pakistani forces camp in Nushki’s Reko area.
Meanwhile, UBA spokesperson Mazar Baloch said its fighters targeted a Pakistani military vehicle with a remote-controlled bomb in Bolan’s Kartag Siya Pusht area at around 7:30 a.m. on Saturday. He added that the vehicle was part of a three-vehicle convoy on patrol with a bomb disposal squad.
The UBA claimed that one soldier was killed at the scene and several others were seriously injured in the explosion.
“Our attacks of this kind will continue until an independent Balochistan is achieved,” Mazar Baloch said.
No group had claimed responsibility for the attacks in Panjgur and Kalat or the seizure of the military supply vehicle in Nushki at the time of reporting.
