A 16-year-old student has allegedly been forcibly disappeared from Kech, while three individuals who had previously been reported missing have been recovered in Quetta, Karachi and Panjgur, according to sources.
According to sources, 16-year-old student Shah Bakhsh Babu, son of Babu and a resident of Sri Kallak, Gorkop, Kech, was allegedly detained by Frontier Corps (FC) personnel from his home at approximately 3:00 p.m. on 25 July 2026 and subsequently forcibly disappeared.
Meanwhile, Najibullah Baloch, son of Sarwar Baloch and a resident of Quetta, who was allegedly forcibly disappeared on 7 July 2026, was recovered in Quetta on 25 August 2026.
In another case, Khuda Bakhsh, son of Dilwash and a resident of Gadani, Hub Chowki, who had been missing since 2 February 2026, was recovered from Karachi Central Jail on 28 August 2026.
Similarly, Hasnain Imdad, son of Imdad Baloch, who was allegedly forcibly disappeared from Sarawan, Panjgur, on 21 August 2026, was recovered in Panjgur on 25 August 2026.
Enforced disappearances have remained a longstanding and contentious issue in Balochistan, with families and rights groups repeatedly alleging that people have been taken into custody by Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies and held without information about their whereabouts.
Pakistani authorities have generally rejected allegations of systematic enforced disappearances and have maintained that individuals reported missing may be detained in connection with investigations or security-related cases.
Rights groups and families of missing persons have called for information about the whereabouts of those still unaccounted for, as well as due process and access to legal representation for anyone held by the authorities.
