A man has allegedly been forcibly disappeared after being detained by Pakistani forces in Gwadar, while a young man missing since his alleged detention in Turbat has returned after more than three months.

Sources said Naseeb Baloch, son of Abdul Shakoor, was detained by Pakistani military personnel at the Shahi Hotel in Gwadar’s Padi Zir area on 5 August. His whereabouts have remained unknown since.

In a separate case, Kiyya, son of Muhammad Isa, returned on 5 August after remaining missing for more than three months.

Sources said Kiyya had been detained in the Shey Kehn area of Turbat on 23 April and was later released in Balicha, Tump. No details were immediately available about the circumstances of his release.

Meanwhile, a protest camp organised by the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) continued outside the Quetta Press Club for the 6,325th consecutive day on Thursday, led by the organisation’s chairman, Nasrullah Baloch.

The organisation called for the immediate and safe recovery of all missing persons and urged authorities to provide families with information about the whereabouts of their relatives.

It also demanded effective measures to prevent further enforced disappearances and alleged extrajudicial killings of missing Baloch people.

The VBMP called for transparent investigations into all cases of enforced disappearance and for those responsible to be held accountable under the law.
