Three separate attacks have been reported in different parts of Balochistan, involving an explosion targeting Pakistani military vehicles in Turbat, the destruction of a police checkpoint in Harnai and an armed attack on the convoy of Balochistan Home Minister Ziaullah Langove in Mastung.
According to reports, the convoy of Balochistan Home Minister Ziaullah Langove came under attack near Kund Umarani area of Mastung. Initial reports indicated that Langove remained unharmed, while three personnel accompanying the convoy were injured.
Meanwhile, in Turbat, the main city of Kech district, an IED reportedly targeted Pakistani military vehicles near Shaheed Fida Chowk. Following the incident, a large number of FC and Police personnel subsequently completely cordoned off the area.
Police have confirmed that an explosive device fitted to a motorcycle detonated near Shaheed Fida Chowk in Turbat, causing damage to nearby shops and injuring three passers-by.
According to police, the blast occurred as a Quick Reaction Force (QRF) vehicle was passing through the area. Authorities said the vehicle sustained minor damage in the explosion but reported no casualties among the personnel travelling in it.
Police did not disclose any military casualties and said no deaths or injuries among security personnel had been officially confirmed. However, local sources reported that military personnel may have sustained casualties in the blast.
Meanwhile, in Harnai district, unidentified armed men reportedly targeted the 5-Mile police checkpoint with explosives late on Thursday night. Initial reports indicated that the explosion caused extensive damage to the checkpoint building. No casualties were immediately reported.
No group had immediately claimed responsibility for the latest incidents in Turbat, Harnai or Mastung.
