Four young Baloch men have reportedly been subjected to enforced disappearance following a raid by Pakistani forces in Jiwani, a tehsil of Gwadar district, according to local sources.
Residents said that on the night of 21 July 2026, Pakistani forces conducted a raid in the Dashti Bazaar area of Jiwani and carried out house searches. During the operation, women and children were allegedly subjected to mistreatment, while four young men were taken into custody and subsequently disappeared.
The missing individuals have been identified as Mohsin, son of Majeed; Yaqoob, son of Majeed; Haseeb, son of Asghar; and Sameer, son of Khalid.
According to local sources, all four men are close relatives.
Movement Restrictions Continue in Jiwani
Meanwhile, residents say restrictions on movement in Jiwani remain in force.
According to sources, Pakistani forces have imposed fixed hours for entering and leaving the town. Residents are reportedly permitted to travel only between 7:00am and 10:00am, and again between 3:00pm and 6:00pm. Outside these hours, movement into and out of the town is said to be prohibited.
Locals say the restrictions are severely affecting livelihoods, education, healthcare access and other aspects of daily life.
Residents have criticised the measures, arguing that they amount to collective punishment and claiming that no judicial order or publicly stated legal basis has been provided for the restrictions.
They said they were not seeking special concessions but were demanding what they described as their fundamental constitutional rights, including freedom of movement.
The restrictions come in the aftermath of a 3 July attack on a Pakistan Coast Guards camp in Panwan, which was claimed by the Baloch Liberation Army’s (BLA) Majeed Brigade. Following the incident, local residents say security operations in the area intensified.
