The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has claimed that the body of 24-year-old Rahmdil Baloch, who had allegedly been subjected to enforced disappearance five months ago, was recovered in Kech district.

The Baloch Yakjetti Committee (BYC), in a statement issued on Tuesday, said Rahmdil Baloch, son of Muhammad Bakhsh and a resident of Sangabad Tajaban in Kech, had allegedly been forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces in January 2026.

According to the family, Rahmdil had been summoned to a military camp in Hoshab and was later informed that he could leave. They allege that shortly after departing the camp, he and his elder brother were stopped by Pakistani forces and government backed militias, locally known as “Death Squads”. The family claims that his brother was subjected to torture before being released, while Rahmdil was taken away and remained missing thereafter.

The family campaigned for his recovery for several months. On 20 January 2026, relatives and local residents staged a protest and blocked the CPEC highway in Tajaban, demanding his release. The protest ended after authorities reportedly assured the family that efforts would be made to secure his recovery.

According to the BYC, Rahmdil’s body was found on 20 June in the Banuk Chadhayi area of Kech district. The organisation alleged that the body showed signs of mutilation.

The BYC described the incident as part of what it alleges is a continuing pattern of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in Balochistan. The group expressed condolences to Rahmdil’s family and called for an end to enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in the region.

There was no immediate response from Pakistani authorities regarding the allegations made by the BYC and the family.
