The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) said on Sunday its fighters captured two Pakistani military camps in the Kharwari Baba area of Balochistan’s Ziarat, killed 13 personnel and seized weapons and ammunition during what it described as an “organised military operation”.

In a statement, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the attacks were carried out on Saturday and targeted two Pakistani military camps in the area.

The statement said BLA fighters launched simultaneous attacks on the camps, advanced from multiple directions and surrounded both positions, establishing “complete control” after intense close-quarter fighting.

“As a result of this close-quarter combat, nine personnel of the occupying forces were killed on the spot, while other soldiers of the defeated enemy fled the battlefield, leaving behind their positions and weapons,” the statement said.

After taking control of the camps, the BLA said its fighters seized modern military weapons, communication equipment and ammunition stockpiles, and later set both camps on fire.

Other BLA units, the statement added, set up blockades on the main highway and took control of routes leading to Kharwari Baba during the operation.

The group said Pakistani military and police reinforcements attempting to advance towards the area were ambushed at two separate locations.

“In these successful attacks, four more enemy personnel were killed and several others were injured, while their military vehicles were also immobilised,” the statement said.

“Such organised, coordinated and decisive attacks on enemy positions will continue with greater intensity,” the statement said, adding that the campaign would continue until what it called the “complete independence of Balochistan and the withdrawal of Pakistani forces”.

Separately, Pakistani forces suffered casualties in a bomb explosion in Kech district on Sunday morning, local sources said.

According to the sources, personnel of a Pakistani forces bomb disposal squad were targeted in an explosion at Nakeer in the Hirronk area while clearing a route.

One personnel was killed and another seriously wounded in the blast, the sources added.

No group had claimed responsibility for the Hirronk attack at the time of publication.
