A Balochi literary and cultural event was held on Saturday in the city of Göttingen, Germany, organised by the literary organisation Dodman. The programme was attended by a large number of writers, poets, intellectuals and literature enthusiasts.
The event was divided into three main sessions, combining elements of scholarship, literature and music.
The first session featured a lecture on Baloch culture and civilisation. Speakers discussed the historical roots, traditions, social values and linguistic heritage of the Baloch people. They highlighted that Baloch civilisation represents a rich cultural legacy spanning centuries, characterised by traditions such as hospitality, bravery, strong social customs and a long-standing poetic tradition. The session aimed to familiarise participants with various aspects of Baloch history and culture while encouraging younger generations to remain connected to their cultural identity.
The second session was dedicated to the memory of the late Balochi poet Majid Baloch. During the poetry recital, several poets presented their work in tribute to the deceased poet. The poems addressed themes such as love, remembrance, culture and collective identity. Speakers also reflected on Majid’s literary contributions and his role in the development of Balochi poetry.
The final session focused on music and featured a performance by Balochi banjo player Bali Baloch, who is based in Germany. He performed traditional Balochi melodies on the banjo, which were warmly received by the audience. Attendees praised the performance and applauded the musician’s artistry, bringing the cultural programme to a lively conclusion
