Baloch “pro-independence” armed groups — the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG), the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) and the United Baloch Army (UBA) — said on Friday their fighters carried out multiple attacks targeting Pakistani forces and government installations across Balochistan and parts of Sindh in recent days, claiming at least 53 personnel were killed.
BLA Claims 14 Attacks Across Multiple Districts
In a statement, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the group’s fighters carried out fourteen operations targeting Pakistani forces and allied groups in Kolwah, Mastung, Surab, Turbat, Sami and Dasht.
According to the statement, the attacks began on February 16 in the Belor area of Kolwah, where fighters targeted Pakistani army troops and a military convoy attempting to advance in the area. The group said one soldier was killed and two others were injured.
The statement said BLA fighters ambushed Pakistani forces attempting an overnight advance in the Gurgina area of Mastung on February 24. The following day, another attempt to advance was also targeted.
“In both these clashes, four occupation army personnel were killed and at least seven were injured,” the statement said.
The group also said its fighters established a blockade on the Quetta–Karachi highway in Surab on February 26 and conducted vehicle searches for several hours. During the blockade, a Counter-Terrorism Department armoured vehicle was targeted with a remote-controlled IED.
“The explosion destroyed the vehicle and killed one personnel,” the statement said.
On the same day, the statement said BLA fighters took control of a police station in the Kalatuk area of Turbat in Kech district, seizing weapons and destroying a surveillance tower with explosives.
Further attacks were reported on March 3 in Turbat, where fighters established a blockade near Nodiz and attacked a convoy accompanied by what the group described as a “death squad.” The group said three personnel were killed during the attack.
Later that night, fighters belonging to what the BLA described as its “Special Tactical Operations Squad” ambushed a Pakistani military convoy in the Nasirabad area of Turbat.
“Three vehicles, including an armored one, were directly hit, resulting in the death of five personnel and injuring several others,” the statement said.
The group also said rocket attacks were carried out on a Pakistani military post in the Sami area of Kech and that a convoy vehicle was targeted with an IED on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor route in the Haftari area of Sami on March 4, claiming casualties and material losses.
Grenade attacks were also claimed on an army post at Taleemi Chowk in Turbat and a customs office in Pasni.
BRG Reports Operations by ‘Parvez Urban Warriors’
In a separate statement, the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) said its urban guerrilla unit, the “Parvez Urban Warriors,” carried out nineteen operations across Balochistan and Sindh.
BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch said the operations targeted military camps, checkpoints and government installations, claiming that 37 personnel were killed.
According to the statement, fighters targeted a freight train and railway track with an IED near Tando Masti Khan in Khairpur district of Sindh on March 6, causing the train to derail and damaging the track.
The group also said its fighters took control of Gulo town near Sibi on the night of March 5, where a police station and other government buildings were seized. Police personnel present at the station were detained and later released, while weapons and equipment were confiscated.
Additional attacks were reported on March 3 and March 4 against Pakistani forces’ positions in Lumaji, Chattar, Bakhtiyarabad and Dera Murad Jamali.
The statement said seven personnel were killed in an attack on a check post in the Lumaji area of Sibi. In the Sonwah area near Chattar in Naseerabad district, another check post was attacked with heavy weapons, killing six personnel. Fighters later attacked a nearby checkpoint at close range using RPGs and grenade launchers, killing nine personnel, the group said.
The group also said five soldiers were killed during an assault on a military camp in Dera Murad Jamali, while another attack in Bakhtiyarabad resulted in five additional fatalities.
The statement further said fighters seized the Levies station in Arand, Sibi and targeted reinforcements approaching the area with a remote-controlled IED, destroying a vehicle and killing five personnel.
BLF, UBA Claim Highway Blockade and Attacks
Meanwhile, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) said its fighters carried out several operations across Balochistan.
BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said fighters blockaded the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor highway in the Pathk area of Basima on March 5 while conducting vehicle searches.
According to the statement, Pakistani forces attempted to advance toward the area but were repelled, and fighters shot down two military quadcopters during the confrontation.
The group also claimed responsibility for setting fire to a communications tower on Dureji Road in Hub and for attacks on military checkpoints in Zehri, Jhao and Turbat, saying the operations caused casualties and material losses to Pakistani forces.
A grenade attack on the City Police Station in Hub was also reported on March 4.
In another statement, the United Baloch Army (UBA) said its fighters carried out a blockade operation on March 6 on the highway linking Nausham in Kachhi district with Dhadar.
UBA spokesperson Mazar Baloch said fighters opened fire on a vehicle that allegedly attempted to flee during the blockade, resulting in the death of Quetta Deputy Tehsildar Sher Dil Abro.
The group also said its fighters detained Daulat Khan Kheri during the operation, whom it described as an informant working with Pakistani intelligence agencies.
The statement said Kheri allegedly confessed during questioning to assisting Pakistani forces in the arrest of Baloch youths and to involvement in the killing of a Baloch activist identified as Ismail, also known as Sufi.
The group said the “Baloch national court” found him guilty of treason and sentenced him to death, adding that the sentence was carried out on March 6.
Pakistani authorities did not immediately comment on the claims.
