A transport union blocked the Makran Coastal Highway on Wednesday, halting all traffic, in protest over what it said was misconduct by Pakistani forces stationed along the route.
Leaders of the Sindh–Balochistan Transporters Union said the sit-in would continue until authorities addressed their concerns. They said drivers faced repeated delays at the Hingol check post, where buses were stopped and searched for several hours at a time.
Transporters said no illegal items had been recovered during the checks, and that the prolonged inspections were causing significant delays for passengers and financial losses for transport companies.
Sources said the blockade left passenger buses and cargo vehicles stranded on several sections of the highway. They added that authorities had not issued a formal response or opened negotiations with the protesters.
