A woman from Quetta has alleged that her two teenage sons were forcibly disappeared after being detained during a late-night raid by Pakistani forces, urging authorities to ensure their immediate recovery.

Speaking at a press conference held outside the Quetta Press Club at the protest camp of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), resident Bibi Shahida said her sons, Tanveer Ahmed, 17, and Basheer Ahmed, 15, were taken into custody on February 3 and have not been seen since.

According to Bibi Shahida, personnel of Pakistani forces raided her home in Kili Bangulzai, located in the Sariab Customs area of Quetta, at around 1 a.m. She said both boys were detained in front of her during the operation.

She stated that officials told the family the teenagers would only be questioned and released the same night. However, she said that despite the passage of 12 days, the family has received no information regarding their whereabouts or condition, leaving relatives in what she described as severe mental distress.

“My sons are innocent. My husband has passed away and I am a helpless mother,” she said during the press conference. “I do not know what to do for my children. I am presenting my plea so that someone hears my request and helps secure their recovery.”

Through journalists, she appealed to senior authorities to immediately recover her sons and, if any allegations exist against them, to present them before a court of law rather than subjecting the family to enforced disappearance.

Bibi Shahida insisted that her sons are innocent and said ensuring their safety remains the responsibility of the authorities.
