Baloch “pro-independence” leader Dr Allah Nazar Baloch has said that recent coordinated attacks under the Baloch Liberation Army’s “Operation Herof 2.0” and the public response seen in several cities represent what he described as the “final breaths” of Pakistani state forces in Balochistan.
In a statement shared on Truth Social, the chief of the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) said the Pakistani mainstream still “fails to distinguish between a freedom movement and terrorism,” arguing that such views disregard the historical context of the Baloch political struggle.
He referred to what he described as public expressions of support for armed fighters during clashes in Quetta, calling the scenes “an eye-opener” for those who criticise the Baloch movement.
According to Dr Nazar, Baloch residents “welcomed fighters from Gwadar to Quetta despite the intensity of the fighting.”
Dr Nazar said Punjabi journalists, vloggers and commentators were free to describe Baloch fighters as “terrorists,” but argued that such labels did not reflect sentiment on the ground.
He said the reception armed groups received in several districts demonstrated that “the Baloch nation loves its freedom fighters.”
The BLF leader accused Pakistani forces of carrying out attacks on civilians during ongoing operations. He said thirteen members of a single family from Khuzdar were killed in Gwadar, while firing on civilian neighbourhoods was also reported in Quetta.
He claimed a passenger van was targeted in Nushki, resulting in ten civilian deaths, and alleged that drone strikes in Nushki had caused further casualties.
He described the incidents as “the height of state brutality,” and argued that they signalled what he called “the final breaths of the Punjabi army” in Balochistan.
