The “pro-independence” Baloch Armed group Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has released the identities of three more members it says were involved in what it refers to as “Operation Herof Phase 2″.

In a statement, the group identified one of the fighters as Zaheer Pirkani, also known as Mash Yar, son of Bibi Saeeda and a resident of Niam Ghundi in Shaal (Quetta). According to the BLA, he joined the organisation in March 2024, initially operating as an urban guerrilla for a year before moving to mountainous areas in 2025. The group said he later became part of its Majeed Brigade and served as a patrol commander. It stated that he was killed on 6 December 2025 in Kalat while preparing for Operation Herof.

The BLA claimed that Pirkani had previously been subjected to enforced disappearance in June 2021, allegedly by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), and that this experience influenced his decision to join the armed group.

The second individual was identified as Hafeez Baloch, also known as Ahsan, son of Haseena Bibi and a resident of Shapatan in Panjgur. The BLA said he joined the organisation in 2023 as an urban operative, moved to mountainous areas in September 2024, and became a member of the Majeed Brigade in November 2024. According to the group, he was killed during Operation Herof II in clashes at what it described as the main military camp in Kharan.

The third fighter was identified as Qadir Kashani Baloch, also known as Chairman Baloch Khan, son of Ghulam Muhammad Kashani and a resident of Killi Qasim in Dalbandin, Chagai district. The BLA said he held a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Management and Technology in Lahore and joined the group in February 2024. It claimed he was active on several fronts, including Chamalang, Kahan and Dukki, and was killed in Kharan as part of what it referred to as the “Fateh Squad”.

The BLA described all three men as having played active roles in its armed campaign.
