A joint memorial reference was held under the auspices of the Baloch Students Organization (BSO) and BSO-Pajjar to honor the memory of Zubair Baloch and Nisar Jan Baloch. The event brought together leaders from various political parties and human rights organizations across Balochistan.
Speakers at the gathering included BSO-Pajjar’s Vice Chairman Malik Babul Baloch, BSO’s Senior Vice Chairman Nazar Baloch, Secretary General Samand Baloch, Advocate Sajid Tareen, Mir Kabir Ahmed Mohammad Shahi, Ali Ahmed Langove, Ghulam Nabi Marri, Pashtun Students Federation Balochistan President Tahir Shah, Nasrullah Baloch, Advocate Ishaq Baloch, Hooran Baloch, and Agha Haq Nawaz Shah.
Zubair Baloch, a lawyer, political activist, and the former chairman of the BSO-Pajjar was reportedly killed alongside his companion, Nisar Jan Baloch, during a raid by the Pakistani security forces on a residential house in Dalbandin, Chagai. His death sparked widespread condemntion from political parties, student groups, rights organizations, and legal bodies across Balochsitan.
In their addresses, the participants paid rich tribute to the sacrifices of Zubair Baloch and Nisar Jan Baloch, describing the memorial as both a gesture of homage and a renewal of commitment to carry forward their mission.
Speakers said that Zubair Baloch was a principled, fearless, and peaceful political activist who dedicated his life to the fundamental rights, justice, and equality of the Baloch nation. They noted that he consistently raised his voice against enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and state repression, guiding Baloch students towards awareness and organization.
According to the participants, Zubair Baloch was deliberately targeted as part of a calculated attempt to silence the legitimate voice of the Baloch people. They rejected the state narrative and declared his killing an extrajudicial act. His struggle, they said, remains a shining example of resistance against oppression and will continue to inspire the movement.
Similarly, the speakers hailed Nisar Jan Baloch as a figure who remained steadfast in his commitment to nationalism, unity, and justice, ultimately sacrificing his life for the rights of the Baloch people.
The gathering concluded with a joint appeal to Baloch students, political workers, and all justice-seeking individuals to adopt the mission of the “martyrs”, raise their voices against tyranny, and continue the struggle for the rights of the Baloch nation.
Participants also demanded an immediate end to enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings, affirming that the sacrifices of Zubair Baloch and Nisar Jan Baloch will never be forgotten and will continue to serve as a guiding force for resistance.
