The bullet-riddled bodies of Ziarat Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Afzal Baqi and his son, Bilal Afzal, were discovered on Sunday in the Zardalu area of Harnai district, Balochistan, nearly two months after their abduction.
Levies officials confirmed the recovery of the bodies, which were transported to a local hospital and later handed over to the family.
The father and son were kidnapped from the Zarzari area of Ziarat in August. Other family members and security personnel accompanying them were released shortly after the incident.
In a video released by the abductors days before the discovery, the victims were seen pleading for their captors’ demands to be met. Despite this, no group has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping or the killings.
