At least eight Pakistani soldiers were killed and ten others, including a captain, were injured in a major armed attack on a military camp in Panjgur district, Balochistan, on Friday night, according to official sources.

The assault took place in the GwarGo area, where a large number of armed fighters reportedly launched a coordinated attack on the Pakistani military’s 91 Wing camp. Among the injured is Captain Osama, who is said to be in critical condition.

Sources said the attackers, travelling in Zamyad vehicles and equipped with modern weaponry, stormed multiple military posts in the area. They first destroyed communication infrastructure and then ambushed the quick response force, leading to a prolonged exchange of gunfire that lasted several hours.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani military, has not yet issued a statement confirming or denying the incident.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

Balochistan has witnessed a series of similar large-scale assaults in recent years, often claimed by Baloch armed groups targeting major security installations. Friday’s attack is one of the deadliest reported in Panjgur district in recent months.
