The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) and the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) have both issued statements claiming responsibility for recent attacks and armed clashes against Pakistani security forces in Balochistan.

According to a statement released by BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, the group’s fighters carried out an assault on 20 August against a security forces’ camp in Hoshab Tal, using rocket launchers and other heavy weapons. The spokesperson claimed that the attack inflicted casualties and material losses. The group stated it would continue its operations until the achievement of its stated goal of Baloch independence.

Separately, the BLA announced that one of its fighters, identified as Zahid Saleh, also known as Wahid, was killed in an armed clash with Pakistani forces on 22 August in the Tump region’s Talokan area. The BLA spokesperson, Jeeyand Baloch, said the clash occurred while its fighters were travelling for organisational work. The group claimed that several Pakistani soldiers were killed or injured during the exchange.

The BLA described Zahid Saleh as an experienced member, originally from Tump’s Nazarabad area, who had been active in armed activities since 2014 and formally joined the BLA in 2023. The organisation characterised his death as part of a broader struggle.

Pakistani authorities have not issued an official response regarding the incidents.
