A young man who had been allegedly abducted several days earlier in Balochistan’s Panjgur district was found dead, local sources confirmed. The victim was identified as Parvez Muhammad Umar, who had reportedly been forcibly taken from his home.
According to residents, the abduction occurred on the night of July 5 at approximately 10 PM, when five armed men in a vehicle arrived at his residence in Gramkan and forcibly took him away.
Family members said that after the abduction, there was no information about Parvez’s whereabouts despite extensive efforts to locate him. His body was eventually discovered on July 11 in the Shaho Kahn area of Panjgur.
The body was shifted to the Teaching Hospital Panjgur for identification. Medical staff confirmed that Parvez had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and visible signs of torture.
The killing comes amid a broader surge in violence, targeted killings, theft, and abductions in Panjgur over recent months, which has raised alarm across the district.
In response to the deteriorating security situation, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Panjgur has announced the convening of a broad-based National Peace Jirga. The event is scheduled for Sunday, July 13, 2025, at 10 AM, at Madrassa Khudabadan, Panjgur.
According to the party’s spokesperson, the jirga will bring together concerned citizens, tribal elders, political and social leaders, and all those committed to restoring peace. The goal is to develop a collective strategy to address the rising lawlessness and demand effective action.
