The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) continued its protest camp for the 5,882nd consecutive day outside the Quetta Press Club, demanding the recovery of forcibly disappeared individuals in Balochistan. The protest is being led by VBMP executive committee member Niaz Muhammad Nichari.
VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch highlighted that the families of Dr. Mahrang Baloch, Sibghatullah Shah Ji, Beebarg Zehri, Gulzadi Baloch, Beebow Baloch, Ghaffar Qambarani, and Imran Baloch are also staging a separate peaceful protest outside the National Press Club in Islamabad for the second day, seeking the release of their loved ones.
Nasrullah Baloch further stated that the protesting women in Islamabad have reported being harassed by local authorities. He condemned the alleged harassment, calling it a restriction on peaceful dissent and a violation of fundamental rights, particularly the freedom of expression.
“The harassment of women protesting peacefully outside the Islamabad Press Club is an attack on democratic values and civil liberties,” he said, urging the authorities to respect citizens’ constitutional rights.
VBMP has demanded that the federal government take immediate notice of the situation, engage in meaningful dialogue with the families of the missing, and secure the unconditional release of Dr. Mahrang Baloch, other detained Baloch Yekjehti Committee (BYC) leaders, and all victims of enforced disappearances.
