The Baloch Republican Army (BRA) has claimed responsibility for two attacks in the Sui area of Dera Bugti, targeting individuals it described as state informants and members of a “military-backed death squad.”
In a statement issued to the media, BRA spokesperson Sarbaz Baloch said the group’s fighters opened fire on a man identified as Klari Marita Bugti in the cattle market of Bugti Colony, Sui. The man was critically injured and was reportedly transferred to Punjab for medical treatment under military supervision.
In a separate attack, BRA fighters carried out a hand grenade attack on the residence of Khaliq, also known as Kalu Masoori Bugti, in the Tehsil Bazaar area of Sui town. The group described him as a key operative of a local “death squad backed by state forces.”
The BRA said the explosion was followed by gunfire as men inside the house emerged, resulting in injuries to at least two individuals.
According to the group, the targeted individuals were involved in activities including informing for the military, enforced disappearances, extortion, land grabbing, and kidnappings for ransom. The spokesperson warned that those acting “under state patronage” would continue to be targeted.
